About Basic Truth

Basic Truth (True Old-School R&B, Soul and Funk) has been one of Cincinnati's most popular groups playing old-school dance music since 1998. Basic Truth has performed at live entertainment clubs all over the Greater Cincinnati area, even surviving longer as a group than some of the clubs in which the band has performed. Basic Truth performed for the NAACP 99th Annual Convention, at the President & CEO's Reception. Basic Truth has appeared on the "After Midnight" TV show on WOTH-TV (Channel 25, Cincinnati). Basic Truth holds the record for most live performances on Mojo 94.9 (WMOJ-FM - now off the air), on All The Way Live Friday on "Mojo in the Morning". Basic Truth has performed at some of Cincinnati's biggest annual events, such as the 5th, 6th & 7th Annual Bengals Bash Rallies (2007 - 2009), the Cincinnati Juneteenth Festival (2004 - 2009), Mojo's first three annual Summer Jam concerts (2003 - 2005), and the Midwest Regional Black Family Reunion Celebration (2003). Basic Truth has performed at various private functions and fundraising events, including the Greater Cincinnati Urban League's Gala in 2003 and 2006 - 2008, and the Catholic Women of Cincinnati's 2003 - 2005 WineFests. Basic Truth is a "Distinguished Member" of the Web site Cincy Music, and was a featured "Local Artist of the Week" on the Web site AroundTheNati,com. Since 1998, several of Cincinnati's best old-school R&B/funk musicians and vocalists have performed with Basic Truth. With its current line-up of C.C. (lead and background vocals), MarTinez Butts (guitar, background and lead vocals), Bill Dandridge (bass, background and lead vocals) and Wes Dandridge (drums), Basic Truth continues to play the old-school R&B, soul and funk jams that Cincinnati loves to dance to.

Basic Truth (True Old-School R&B, Soul and Funk) is featured on the home page of ZBands.com, until April 30th. ZBands is a national website that answers the question, "Where are the bands playing?" ZBands provides a single, easy-to-use customer interface, with direct links to band and venue websites, and offers ease of use in locating bands and venues with the least amount of effort and time.

Basic Truth Show at Seecretz Fri. Mar. 20 CANCELLED

The Basic Truth show at Seecretz Sports Lounge & Grill scheduled for Fri. Mar. 20 has been cancelled. The booking manager for Seecretz, Geral Johnson, has booked Basic Truth twice in as many months and then rescheduled both dates after Basic Truth had already posted promo listings for those dates. Basic Truth apologizes for any inconvenience, confusion or disappointment caused by the cancellations.
